The homely cottage has two bedrooms (one double and two single beds) each with en-suite shower, a pull out sofa in the living room and a fully equipped open plan kitchen. All linen and towels are provided.

The generous covered stoop with the outside braai overlooks our small succulent garden.

Grootwaterval Lodge (sleeps 8 persons) R250 pppn

If you are an outdoor enthusiast and love nature and solitude we would recommend the lodge – the perfect place for a group of friends or a family. The spacious house (7km from the farm house) has no electricity but a lot of oil lamps. In the main building is an open kitchen with everything you need, gas-fridge / freezer, gas-burner and an Aga stove. On cold winter nights you can enjoy the cozy inside fireplace in the living room.

The four bedrooms (two with double beds, two with single beds) are all en-suite. All linen and towels are provided. You enter from the generous laid out verandah with an outside fireplace. Quite often one can see Gemsbok, Kudus and Springboks passing by or at night you may be lucky to see the shy cape genet or an aardvark.

We offer bird watching, swimming in our natural spring water dam, mountain biking, tractor/-trailer rides. Explore the Karoo on a 25 km hiking trail or go on a night drive.
